Big Bang’s Taeyang displays his jealousy towards Lee Michelle, one of the contestants of K-POP Star, SBS’s weekend popular audition show.

On the January 29 episode of K-POP Star, the contestants who were selected by one of the three representatives of Korea’s top three major entertainment agencies are trained by each agency’s training programs.

The contestants who were selected by YG Entertainment are directed to join individual training courses to test their capabilities. After the training course was completed, they faced a midterm test with Big Bang and 2NE1’s members as the panel of judges.

No surprise, Girls' Generation was the top-selling artist of 2011. Their new releases sold. Their old releases sold. Basically, everything the nine girls touched turned golden in 2011. 2NE1 was the only other female artist to crack the top ten in overall artist sales; they would be ranked #7 after SHINee (who didn't release any new K-pop in 2011 but sold plenty of their older albums). Super Junior came out on top among the male artists, and Big Bang spread out their sales with group, unit, and solo releases (Seung Ri's V.V.I.P. was actually the best-selling solo artist album of 2011).

2.G-Dragon #3 on "Stars I Want to Date" poll [NEWS]

On January 19th, Arirang TV reported that the program ‘Showbiz Korea‘ held this poll for one month on their homepage, and that first place went to Donghae.

K-pop fans from all over the world participated in this poll, with some clocking in from countries like Morocco, Honduras, Guatemala, and Mexico.

Out of the 3,278 votes, 355 (or 10.8%) went to Donghae. 2nd place went to fellow Super Junior member Kyuhyun, while 3rd place went to Big Bang‘s leader G-Dragon; both stars garnered 8.1% and 7.9% of the votes, respectively.

4th to 6th place went to (in order): Super Junior’s Eunhyuk, Heechul, and Leeteuk.
